We kiln dry the rough sawn Cypress logs before machining, cutting, glueing, clamping and finishing in our workshop.

The outside and legs are then burnt with a blow torch using the ancient Japanese Shou Sugi ban technique. The top is left natural to highlight the beautiful rings of the Cypress tree.

The entire stool is sealed with matt polyurethane and nylon glides placed under the legs.

Suitable for use indoors or outdoors undercover.

Calitrus Glaucophylla Cypress is one of the few native Australian Cypress species and is common throughout Northern Australia.

Its sweet scented oils were used by Indigenous Australians for medical purposes and continue to be used in modern aromatherapy.
